TapeScript stores the information needed to provide accounts, organize extractions, and generate transcripts and summaries. The operator of each deployment controls its database and infrastructure.

Data processed

  • Account identity supplied by the configured OAuth provider.
  • Media URLs, metadata, transcripts, summaries, folders, and preferences.
  • Operational logs needed to secure and maintain the service.

AI provider keys

API keys are encrypted at rest. Existing keys are never returned by the account API. They are decrypted on the server only when a selected AI provider needs them.

Media and AI providers

Processing may send a media URL, audio, transcript, or prompt to the AI provider selected in account settings. Those providers apply their own privacy terms.

Public sharing

New summaries are private by default. A summary becomes publicly accessible only when you share it or explicitly enable automatic sharing in Settings. Public pages may be indexed by search engines.

Deletion

The account deletion control disables access to the account. Server operators should define backup retention and final deletion procedures appropriate to their deployment.
